DESCRIPTION:During this session\, Rachel Gilbert\, Cat Kirkland\, and Oceans Healthcare CEO Stuart Archer will discuss concepts related to hospital participation in the  Medicaid Program\, with a specific focus on reimbursement and lessons learned in other states. Topics will include: base Medicaid reimbursement and the need for supplemental payments; Alabama’s current supplemental Medicaid payment programs; financing Medicaid supplemental payments; risks and benefits of potentially transitioning to managed care; and use of Medicaid waivers in other states to draw down additional Medicaid payments to providers.
